ProGARM’s New Generation FR GO/RT Arc Fabric

ProGARM’s New Generation FR GO/RT Arc Fabric

ProGARM is pleased to annouce the near launch of the revolutionary new GO/RT3279 Hi-Visibility Orange fabric designed for workers on or near the trackside.

WHAT’S DIFFERENT ABOUT THIS NEW FABRIC?

This new fabric may look no different to the fabric used in the current products in the ProGARM collection (4616 Trouser, 4690 Coverall and 4608 Jacket), yet it features the latest technology for protective fabrics for the rail market and now offers certification to Class 2 of the Welding standard EN ISO11611.

ABOUT GO/RT 3279 HI-VIS ARC FLASH FABRICS

Achieving certification to the European norms for EN ISO11612 Heat & Flame, IEC61482 Arc Flash, EN ISO20471 Hi-Visibility and GO/RT/3279 Railway requirements had always been a challenge for fabric producers. This was due to the simple fact that Hi-Visibility certification generally requires a fabric containing polyester yet polyester fabrics are not the best performing fabrics against heat and flame.

However, in some rail applications where wearers were using welding processes, the Class 1 EN ISO11611 welding performance meant that the lifetime of the garment was significantly reduced as a result of heavy weld splatter.

This new revolutionary fabric is now slightly lighter in weight, yet acheives Class 2 welding certification and better molten metal droplet protection.

Other features of this fabric include:

  • Reduced shrinkage – for improved wearer satisfaction
  • P-aramid content – for improved heat protection
  • E2 Protection – protection against larger molten metal splashes

ARC FLASH CERTIFICATION

In addition to the Hi-Visibility and GO/RT 3279 certification, this fabric is now also Arc Flash certified to not only IEC61482-1-2 Class 1 but also IEC61482-1-1. With an outstanding test result of 12.0 cal/cm2 this fabrics is set to be a winner for Raily and Utility Contractors.

GARMENT AVAILABILITY USING THE NEW FABRIC

Garments in this new revolutionary fabric will be available during the latter part of 2015 and the Sales team will advise customers as soon as new stocks begin to arrive. We recommend you pre order in order to reserve stock as it is anticipated that demand will be high, with safety consious companies striving to lead the way in protection for their employees.

EN471 or EN ISO20471?

EN ISO20471 is the most recent Hi-Vizibility European Norm and replaces the previous EN471. All garments in the ProGARM collection are certified to this more stringent standard and we recommend that any company concerned about the safety of their staff ensures that they specify this within their PPE policies. For further details on the  EN ISO 20471 Hi-Vizibility Standard you can read about it on this website.
