Class 1 Arc Flash Helmet certified to protect against the Thermal Hazards of an Electric Arc and manufactured using Modified High Impact Polyamide.
The ProGARM Class 1 Arc Flash Safety Helmet is a top-of-the-line protective helmet designed to provide maximum safety in high-risk environments. This helmet is certified to protect against the Thermal Hazards of an Electric Arc, making it ideal for industries such as Power Generation, Utilities, Industrial Electrical, Petrochemical, and Rail.
Manufactured using Modified High Impact Polyamide, this helmet is built to withstand the toughest conditions. It is designed to protect the head against injuries caused by falling objects and electric shock by preventing shock current flow through the head. Additionally, it is approved with the faceshield for short circuit arc welding and protection against molten metal splashes.
The faceshield of this helmet includes unique protection for the chin, a feature not commonly found on other Arc Flash helmets. This added protection ensures that the wearer is fully protected from all angles in hazardous situations.
In terms of certifications, this helmet meets the standards of EN 166:2001, EN 50365:2002, EN 397:2012 +A1:2012, and GS-ET 29:2011-05. It also features USP's Stroke absorption and resistance to penetration after conditioning in extreme temperatures ranging from -30°C to +50°C.
The helmet is equipped with a wheel ratchet adjustment for a secure and comfortable fit. It has an adjustable head circumference from 53-63cm and a two-level height adjustment feature for a customized fit. The short peak design provides added protection without obstructing vision.
Other features of this helmet include a 4-point webbing harness, an accessory slot for ear defenders, and electrical insulation (Class 0) up to 1000V AC and 1500V DC. It also offers resistance to Molten Metal Splash (MM) and Lateral Deformations (LD), ensuring comprehensive protection in a variety of hazardous situations.
Please note that Arc Flash helmets should be disposed of after their expiry date. The expiry date is stamped on the helmet and it applies to all its elements (shell, visor, harness, strap etc).
Arc Flash helmets have an expiry date because exposure to UV radiation, temperature, humidity etc will degrade the integrity and protection that the helmet provides over time. The life of the helmet is determined by prescribed testing from the Notified Body and following that testing the item is then issued with a conformity assessment and certificate.
